Llankelly lights on the blink

A reader asked when the Llankelly place lights would be turned back on. Council's Kings Cross Place Manager Linda Mearing says there are delays from suppliers. 'We're currently chasing the supplier of the light fittings for maintenance and
replacements,' she said.

I was wondering why the Llankelly lights are off and pleased to hear it's only temporary. Those lightworks are fantastic - and one of the best and most sympathetic things SSCC did for the Cross. They echo the flashing lights of Darlinghust Rd and are wonderfully festive. And they make strolling down Llankelly Place at night a real pleasure. With Council's current ban on flashy signage, it'd be the perfect opportunity to have a similar permanent light display running the length of Darlinghurst Road to really bring the place back to life and give it a sense of occassion. Like they've done in Chinatown.

This council cannot manage the revovation of a building in 12 months nor the renovation of a footpath in 8 months.

How can you expect them to change a light bulb?

How many council employees do we need to change a light bulb?

Answer: The full Council of the City of Sydney, cause they are screwing all of us.
